Update On Vince McMahon’s Feelings Towards Matt Riddle

Riddle has been a staple on RAW since being moved to Monday night’s as part of the 2020 WWE draft.

It had previously been rumored that the reason Riddle was moved to RAW from SmackDown during this year’s draft might have been due in part, to some potential heat backstage between himself and Seth Rollins. Whether or not there was any merit to the reports hasn’t seemed to effect Riddle’s television push, as it’s being said that Vince McMahon really likes what he is doing and find’s him to be funny.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Matt Riddle, and stated that Vince McMahon likes Riddle and thinks that he is funny. He went on to say that Vince probably doesn’t get the fact that Riddle is basically doing a Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High character, but that he finds it funny.

“Vince McMahon thinks Matt Riddle is funny in his own weird way, so Vince likes the guy, I don’t know if he wants to push him to a main event, but he likes him on TV doing this stuff. Vince never probably saw Fast Times at Ridgemont High and he doesn’t realize he’s doing a 40-year-old character with Jeff Spicoli. So he likes this character, he likes Matt Riddle, he just doesn’t get the bro thing, but he thinks he’s funny so we gotta keep him on TV.”
