Kevin Owens Says Vince McMahon Was Initially Shane McMahon’s Tag Partner At WrestleMania 34
Kevin Owens has had an interesting run turning WrestleMania into KOMania since his arrival in the WWE. And whether it’s been good or bad, his WrestleMania experiences have always had moments to remember.
One of the most memorable moments for him was being part of Daniel Bryan’s return to active competition. He and Sami Zayn teamed up to face Shane McMahon and Bryan at WrestleMania 34, but while the wait behind the scenes happened to see if Bryan would be medically cleared to compete, alternative plans had to be made.
In an interview with TalkSport’s Alex McCarthy, Owens revealed that KO and Zayn at once point were going to face Shane McMahon and his father Vince at WrestleMania. McCarthy revealed this information on Twitter as he hyped up an interview he had with Owens that would be released soon. While his original tweet said Wrestlemania 33, a fan asked if he made a mistake, which McCarthy admitted he had and corrected it.
Of course other situations surrounded that match as Shane wound up being hospitalized before the event with acute diverticulitis and an umbilical hernia. In that case, Chris Jericho revealed and confirmed he was the emergency plan to replace Shane in that scenario.
