WWE took a sharp turn from their creative direction last night on Raw when Lana was severely injured by the hands of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler leading them to pull Lana from the show. After WWE revealed Lana “suffered devastating injuries to her legs and elbow,” they have removed her from the show and it seems like Asuka will either need a new partner or find herself going at it alone at TLC.
That said, it’s entirely possible now that Jax and Baszler don’t drop the titles at TLC, or at least that’s what Dave Meltzer has suggested on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer noted another team is apparently being “groomed” to face the champions. On Raw, it’s possible that they revisit Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke now that the two teams no longer have the need to be civil due to Survivor Series for a title shot. Not to mention Mandy Rose’s return Monday night puts that team back on the board.
Meanwhile on Smackdown, Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan are starting to get featured as a team again, and there’s a chance they could revisit that feud following TLC.
The decision to pull Lana from TLC seems confusing at best after all they did to attempt to get fans to invest in her push, but we shall have to see what comes next at or after TLC.
