Taya Valkyrie Trademarks Her Name
Impact Wrestling is looking at an unfortunate situation at the end of the year with several top stars looking to test free agency. While it’s not certain all of them will make an exodus from the company, some of them are taking steps for the future as they see what’s out there for them.
While Ethan Page has put over the company as he has contract talks with other promotions, he was happy to remind us that The North will always be a tag team wherever he goes and Jake Crist has given no indication he’s coming back to Impact, Taya Valkyrie has not leaned one way or the other publicly over her future. She has, however, taken steps toward the future.
Heel By Nature has reported Taya has filed a copyright on her ring name as of December 10th of this year. She registered the trademark with the typical wording pro wrestling trademarks include like “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.”
Valkyrie managed to include an old photo of herself to verify she’s been using the name since 2010. Though she’s married to John Morrison, there’s no indication Valkyrie has interest from the WWE or anyone else at this time. That said, she’s a talented star that could fit in any major promotion at this time. 2021 could be an interesting year to see where Valkyrie ends up.
