Bobby Lashley is kind of a polarizing figure in the WWE. You either really like the guy or you’re not a big fan. There’s a section that’s certainly indifferent, but we now know what camp Vince McMahon resides in.
Over the last few weeks, Lashley has been protected pretty well and the CEO of the Hurt Business has looked like a fine talent in the WWE. His wins have been dominant and decisive, and Vince McMahon seems to be all about the protection. A report by Ringside News says that while Lashley has nothing decisive down the road in terms of what could be bigger, Lashley is “seen by Vince McMahon as more of a star than the others on the roster.”
There’s no real long term plan or angle for Lashley right now. He is the current US Champion and while that might be where he peaks for the moment, Vince definitely sees him as a top talent on the show and as one of the champions on the show, he should be booked strong. Who knows? Maybe with the way Vince currently thinks of him in addition to his growing momentum, maybe a future match with Brock Lesnar is in the cards if he returns to the company.
