Digital Producer For IMPACT Wrestling Says Matt Hardy Almost “Deleted” Company In Rejected Storyline
It’s always interesting to hear about storylines and angles that could have been in professional wrestling. Sometimes, depending on who they are, it can be more intriguing.
Matt Hardy has proven himself to be very creative in terms of his career. His constant reinvention has wound up delivering one of his most popular versions of himself to date in “Broken” Matt Hardy. Hardy’s Broken gimmick was involved in several unusual and bizarre moments in Impact Wrestling that were often headlined by outlandish cinematic matches and storylines that only furthered the character. One of the scrapped ideas could have shifted not just his character, but an entire company.
Digital Producer for IMPACT Wrestling Garett Kidney took to Twitter after Impact reminded fans that this day in history had the Hardy Boys capture the Tag Team Titles in a Tag Team Apocalypto match. The producer revealed that there had been a pitch that the end of the match would have involved Hardy “deleting” all of the company to help bring about a rebrand of the company.
Hardy responded to Kidney’s tweet to confirm the story, leaving fans to wonder how things would have gone had Impact undergone a Final Deletion of their own.
