Update On Mike Bennett’s ROH Contract Status
Mike Bennett has returned to Ring Of Honor in a situation that definitely feels like a homecoming for the star.
Bennett’s first big break in wrestling came as part of ROH and had much of his success there alongside Matt Taven as The Kingdom. After stints with Impact Wrestling and the WWE, Bennett has returned to the company and has a tag team match at Final Battle where he and Taven will face Vincent and Bateman in a grudge match. A high profile match on one of the company’s annual shows bodes well for his long term prospect with the company, but Bennett is still not under contract.
Bennett was interviewed by TV Insider where he revealed that thanks to the current COVID-19 pandemic, he is working on a pay per appearance deal.
It’s per appearance [while] everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on with the world. I’m there. That’s my home. I love it there. I love my family there. It will take a lot for me to leave again. I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Bennett seems elated to return to a company that means so much to him after taking time to start a family and get sober. The company seems pretty eager to keep Bennett around as well, which could translate into a deal once the pandemic ends. With the first vaccines being shipped out recently, the chances of that ending seems to be in sight, and hopefully a long term deal with Ring of Honor as well for the man once known as “The Miracle.”
