IMPACT Wrestling To Bring Back Super X Cup
Fans of Impact’s X-Division can get excited, as an old favorite has returned.
Impact Wrestling revealed earlier today that the Super X Cup is being revived and will take place at their Genesis event on January 9th. The tournament will feature their top X-Division stars and while details have yet to be revealed for the event, the buzz has already begun.
This will be the fourth edition of the tournament, with Chris Sabin winning the inaugural tournament in 2003 and Samoa Joe the winner in 2005 before taking a long break until 2017 when it was briefly branded the GFW Super X Cup due to their relationship with Global Force Wrestling. Dezmond Xavier won the 2017 edition.
We will have more information on this tournament as Impact reveals details. The tournament has sometimes brought in international talent to represent other promotions and countries, which could give them an opportunity to bring in talent from All Elite Wrestling. Previous years have seen Juventud Guerrera, Shocker, and Taji Ishimori representing outside promotions.
