EC3 Talks Being Released By WWE Shortly After Pitching New Idea
EC3’s sting in WWE has been criticized for the most part, barring his time in NXT. Fans thought that WWE never used him very well. He was released by the company in April of this year.
The top one-percenter recently talked to Chris Van Vliet, where he discussed a variety of topics. He discussed how he initially wanted to request his WWE release, but not able to do that because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The only thing that kept me there? It was the fact that I’m like ‘oh man there is a pandemic. My parents have a small business, my family might need it. I can’t pass up that money, they might need it.’”
He then discussed how he once pitched an idea for a character based on the film Fight Club. He mentioned that he was fired by WWE shortly after pitching the idea to Vince McMahon.
“Around WrestleMania time I was coming back from a pretty serious concussion that cost me about five or six months. That really changed my life and really made me think about this character.”
“I pitched this idea. I’m a decent writer, I was typing it up, this real great thing, and I included a promo with it. I send it in on a Wednesday, and two hours later I got fired!”
After his WWE release, EC3 returned to Impact Wrestling where he had a brief stint. Following that, he signed with ROH.
