Several IMPACT Wrestling Contracts Expiring Earlier Than Publicly Expected
Impact Wrestling is definitely looking to go into 2021 in a good news/bad news situation.
The good news is their partnership with All Elite Wrestling will be in full swing and a lot of talent could be crossing over. The bad news is they might needed it, because several of their talents may no longer be under contract.
Fightful Select has reported “multiple contracts are actually up earlier than expected publicly.” While the report did not mention who has an expiring contract, we know of at least Ethan Page. Considering Taya Valkyrie recently trademarked her name, she might be joining the list on her way out.
The report from the site said that the company announced several re-signings months after the contracts were actually signed. It’s unknown why Impact announced the re-signing when the contracts had only actually come into effect.
In early 2019, several re-signings were announced months after the contracts were actually signed and took effect. So some of the deals that look like they have a few more months on them will actually be up on January 1.
In all the confusion, it’s been revealed some of the contracts people expected to be up in months from now are actually up in a couple of weeks.
Impact won’t be taping again until January and then again in March. There will be contracts that run up in the space between the two tapings, so Impact may have a sense of urgency to see who they can keep under contract between the two tapings.
