UK Promotion Wrestle Island Vows To Stand Behind Wrestlers Who Stand Up To Abusers

The British industry was once again rocked by the news of yet another speaking out incident being brought to light regarding a Director of Operations of a British Wrestling promotion. When the news was brought out, many performers who were due to make appearances for the promotion openly condemn the Director and promotion, stating they will not be fulfilling their obligations to the company.

It was an incredible united display against those who do not reflect the qualities needed moving forward following the speaking out movement but with this gesture many of these Independent contractors were loosing out on paying gigs. One UK Promotion Wrestle Island based in Birkenhead and operated by Peter Blackman has vowed to stand behind wrestlers who stand up against working for or with abusers.

In a Tweet Wrestle Island promotion promised that those who do loose work by removing themselves from shows that are run by or have wrestlers who are known abusers, he would either help them find another gig or pay them out of pocket, stating we all need to stand against abusers.

The promotion would continue to release tweets throughout the evening noting that only by working together can we remove the cancerous cells in the wrestling industry. They also note that whilst they does believe in second chances, many of the acts committed that lead to the speaking out movement should not be forgiven.
