WWE Interested In Two Current ROH Stars
WWE is always looking for new talent, and it doesn’t hurt when that new talent could even leave one of their competitors at a disadvantage. It seems that WWE may have had their eye on two Ring of Honor stars, but don’t hold your breath on seeing them in the WWE anytime soon.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed how WWE had interest in both ROH World Champion Rush and TV Champion Dragon Lee. The brothers managed to retain their titles at Final Battle last night, so it doesn’t look like they’ll be leaving the company in the near future.
“Dragon Lee retained his title and Rush retained his title. So, the big question was like, ‘are those guys staying or going?’ If those two guys would have lost it would be like ‘they’re going to WWE.’ Or, well probably WWE because I haven’t heard anything from AEW’s side about either of them, but obviously WWE wanted both of them last year and this year. So, I guess they’re gonna stay because they both retained.”
AEW hadn’t really discussed bringing the duo in, and while there’s no confirmation on whether or not the duo have officially re-signed with ROH, WWE’s chances to bring the duo in doesn’t look great. The addition of Rush & Lee’s father, Bestia Del Ring, to their faction in Ring of Honor probably only adds to the evidence they will be sticking around a while.
