The professional wrestling world lost a beloved personality when Shad Gaspard passed away earlier this year. Friends mourned the loss of the talent, who had won over many friends during his time in the WWE and the independent scene.
Now one of them has paid tribute to him in an emotional way.
Shelton Benjamin was on the winning end of his match at TLC last night, he and Cedric Alexander becoming the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions. Following the match, Shelton took to Instagram to reveal that he had dedicated the win to Gaspard, even having written his initials on his wrist tape before the match.
Gaspard passed away in May of this year as he was caught in a strong rip current in California. He had instructed lifeguards to save his son first, only to be caught up in it. A three day search wound up revealing his body on the shore. While he has left us, it’s clear his memory lives on with the people that love him the most.
