AEW Defeats NXT In Wednesday Ratings Despite Each Show Running Unopposed From The Other
NXT and Dynamite were in a unique position this week to expand their audiences not going head to head against one another. NXT ran unopposed in its usual time slot, while AEW Dynamite found itself preempted in favor of NBA basketball. While AEW found itself running two hours later than normal, would it help the ratings for either show?
Showbuzz Daily has given out Wednesday’s ratings report and AEW Dynamite still defeated NXT despite NXT having the 8-10 PM time slot unopposed from its usual direct competition. AEW had an overnight viewership of 775,000 viewers while NXT delivered 698,000.
It’s still a drop from last week for AEW but a slight one, as AEW had 806,000 viewers last week with a .35 in the 18-49 demographic while NXT managed to drop their viewership from last week’s 766,000 and a .19 in the 18-49.
AEW continues to dominate NXT in that key demographic, scoring a .44 this week to NXT’s .23 in the 18-49. AEW was also the 5th most watch show on cable prime time last night as well, with NXT ranking 40th.
