ROH Discussing Changes In Match Presentations

Ring of Honor has always tried to stand out from its competition on the independent scene. From their Code of Honor rules that had been part of the foundation of the company from their inception, to their Pure Title and the rules created for the division.

Now it seems, they’re going to step up their game potentially in their presentation and making sure every match has a different feel.

Fightful Select has reported some of these potential changes the company could be making, allowing the company to freshen up their in-ring content in unique ways. While the company has made some upgrades in production quality, an idea that’s being discussed is the change of the matches themselves.

Currently, Ring of Honor has three singles titles: the World, Television, and Pure Titles. It’s said there’s an idea gaining traction backstage is that before matches, there will be a determination if they’re looking to go towards one of the three singles titles. If the Pure Title is what they are chasing, the match will be contested under Pure rules, while there would be a time limit on Television division matches and no time limit for the World Title division matches.

The big factor in this is how the matches will change from rules and psychological perspective in the ring. The Pure matches will utilize those rules in storytelling while TV Title division matches would have to have a different pace due to the time limit, and your World Title matches would be more like standard. Fightful’s report also added there would be separate rankings for each division as well.
