When AEW filed a new trademark recently, fans began wondering what the use of it would be.
Things became a bit clearer when it was revealed the trademark was for AEW Elevation and its description was listed for “Wrestling programs and events” in the trademark paperwork. With lots of speculation surrounding the upcoming new hour of programming AEW is preparing to create for Warner Media, many people saw this as a sign that this would be the name of the new show.
The rumors picked up more steam as people continued to talk about how AEW Dark would be split into two separate shows. There had been talk one show would feature more of the young talents while an additional show would go back to the initial purpose of giving more air time to the undercard and midcard talent of AEW.
However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that this will not be the case.
AEW is looking to trademark terms AEW Dark and AEW Elevation. What we do know is that AEW Elevation is not the planned name for the second show on TNT.
While they have confirmed the seeking of the trademarks for Dark and Elevation, the news that Elevation would not be used for their new programming is new. For now, the name and intention of the second show remains unclear.
