Brodie Lee Received Trademark On His Name Days Before Passing Away
Brodie Lee’s passing was a shock to everyone’s system, especially with how sudden it was. It seemed like he was just starting to gain traction in AEW when he left television in October, after years of being with the WWE.
Lee had been trying to leave the WWE since April of last year, but his release request was denied. Thanks to an injury, Lee had time tacked onto the end of his contract until he finally got his release on December 8th of last year. On November 26th, 2019, Lee had decided to prepare for his post-WWE future by registering a trademark for his ring name so he could have ownership of his name and his own intellectual property.
In a report by Heel By Nature, Lee’s request for his trademark passed on December 22nd of last year, getting the trademark for use in wrestling and merchandising.
It’s a shame Lee only gained his trademark now, but it’s possible his family now has the trademark and the rights to make sure his name is protected in the world of wrestling.
