MLW Looking At Unique Industry To Gauge When To Bring Fans Back To Live Events

Fans are eagerly anticipating an opportunity to go back to live pro wrestling events in a safe capacity, and while some shows have run with strict guidelines in place, and sometimes not, one company is monitoring a unique situation to determine when it will be safe to bring fans back to their live events.

Major League Wrestling is reportedly looking at Broadway productions in an attempt to gauge when it would be safest to bring fans back to their live events. PWInsider has talked about this in detail recently.

On the heels of MLW attempting to run a live event in New York City in February, MLW is starting to realize that date for a live event with fans could be unrealistic.

The report has said MLW is looking and waiting to see what will happen with COVID-19 vaccinations in regards to live event planning, with the company hoping fans can return in the second or third quarter of 2021. That is, admittedly, rather optimistic currently.

They then went onto add that MLW was looking at Broadway productions since the unions for the crew and performers would not allow any show to open prematurely. Their feeling is that if Broadway shows begin to open up and run in some of the intimate theaters they do, that would be a big signal it is safe for fans to begin returning to wrestling events.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially difficult on the pro wrestling industry, but it’s clear that several companies want to continue to keep fans safe, even as the first round of vaccines are being distributed to front line workers. Health and safety is a top priority and MLW is making sure fans can return at a time it is best.
