WWE Considering Moving Match Scheduled For Royal Rumble To TV
WWE has been building up the idea for a US Title match for Bobby Lashley, and it was thought to be on the cards for the Royal Rumble.
It was previously reported that Riddle would be slated to meet Lashley for his US Title at the show, but Lashley announced his intentions for the Royal Rumble match last night on Raw. While it’s not unprecedented for the WWE to have someone wrestle a singles match on the show and then compete in the Royal Rumble that night, Fightful Select is reporting that WWE is potentially considering moving the match to sometime before the show.
The plan for the last several weeks was to hold off Lashley’s title defense until the Royal Rumble, but there has been discussion of moving it up.
WWE has been often using the tactic of moving matches that have been originally planned for pay per view onto Raw and Smackdown in recent weeks, so this is entirely possible we could see such a thing now. With the Royal Rumble only a few weeks away, we will be monitoring this situation carefully as it develops.
