Vince McMahon Struggled To Choose A Winner In Chelsea Green’s Debut Following Injury
On the road to Survivor Series, SmackDown was supposed to have a big moment with the arrival of Chelsea Green. Her first appearance was scheduled to not only be a huge debut for her, but a big win that would have put her on the blue brand’s women’s Survivor Series team.
Of course, as we now know Chelsea Green suffered an injury during the match and then audibles had to be called. Liv Morgan was the originally scheduled winner of the match until they decided to put Green into the match. Then when the plan was made to debut Green, it was then moved to her, before eventually going back to Morgan after the injury occurred.
Fightful Select has now reported that apparently Vince McMahon struggled with the decision backstage when the injury happened. Vince at one point called for Tamina to win the match, then Natalya, all before going back to the original plan of Liv Morgan.
Vince McMahon was very indecisive about who the winner of the match should be. Originally scheduled to be Green, Vince called for Natalya, then Tamina to get the victory before landing on Liv Morgan.
Seems like Liv had to jump through a lot of hoops through no fault of her own to win. She was slated to win the match when the script was written the day before the show, only to lose the spot to Green, all before a merry go round that resulted in her eventually winning anyways. When they say plans often change in the WWE, they aren’t kidding.
