Why Chris Jericho Should Not Have Said ‘Erick Rowan’ On AEW Dynamite
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was a special tribute show for Brodie Lee. During the episode, Erick Redbeard made his AEW debut, but Chris Jericho called him by his WWE name ‘Erick Rowan.’
Every time Jericho said that, Excalibur corrected him by saying ‘Redbeard.’ During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Jericho was not supposed to say that name as it is still owned by WWE.
“He’s not supposed to say Erick Rowan because WWE [owns it]. I sure hope [WWE doesn’t do anything about it], I don’t expect it because it would be the worst of the worst for them to do that, please do not do that, but yeah, you’re not supposed to say Erick Rowan on that show.”
Jericho also mentioned the Bludgeon Brothers, but not the Wyatt Family.
