One of WWE’s brightest stars right now is Matt Riddle. The former UFC fighter had an impressive indy wrestling run before arriving in NXT and has since become one of the company’s top stars on Raw. One person who sees the potential Riddle has is his former rival, AJ Styles.
The duo had a fun rivalry on SmackDown before both were moved to Raw as part of the WWE Draft, so he’s one of the few who has seen the things Riddle can do up close. AJ had a chance to talk to ITN about three stars he saw huge potential in, and while he also named Keith Lee and his third was potentially someone we haven’t seen yet his first pick was Riddle that he was pretty emphatic about.
“Matt Riddle is definitely got… that is coming up. Riddle as we call him now. He’s definitely a talent that you need to watch in the future. He’s gonna be a huge star. Keith Lee is another one of those guys who’s just super powerful and can do things that a big man shouldn’t be able to do. Number three, that’s a tough one. who was the number three guy? It makes me wonder if it’s a guy that could be at NXT or is not yet blossomed yet and shown his true potential. I’m not sure what that is. so the number three, we’re gonna give a question mark.”
Riddle and Styles have been pretty tied into one another since his arrival on the main roster. The two have still had several interactions on Raw, and the idea the two could square off again back down the road could deliver a fun match for the fans in the ThunderDome and at home. And if anything, at least we know Riddle has the desire to hang out with Styles’ new found friend Omos.
