Booker T is a legend in the pro wrestling business and a two-time WWE Hall of Famer. His King Booker gimmick was one of his best runs in his career and it seems there was a reason for it.
Booker T recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet, where he revealed that he was close to leaving WWE in 2005. WWE decided to hire Sharmell so that he would stay with the company.
“I was gonna quit WWE back in 2005, 2006 I was leaving because Sharmell and got married and I didn’t want to be on the road and I talked to them about it. They said, ‘why don’t we hire Sharmell?’ I was like, ‘that’ll solve a whole lot.’ So, they hired Sharmell and she came on the road.”
Ultimately Booker T left WWE in 2007 as he worked for TNA for a few years until returning to WWE.
