Tama Tonga Calls Out AEW And Impact Wrestling For “Fake” Bullet Club Reunion
Last night’s reunion of Kenny Omega with The Young Bucks and The Good Brothers had many people saying two words last night: Bullet Club.
New Japan’s top faction for several years, those five men were major parts of the faction and the group’s popularity during their time with New Japan Pro Wrestling. One person is taking major offense to the group’s name being used in relation to the five of them, and that’s Tama Tonga.
Tonga, one of the founding fathers of the group when it was created, launched the group with Karl Anderson, Bad Luck Fale, and the then-Prince Devitt and now-Finn Balor. Doc Gallows followed shortly behind, along with the Young Bucks. When Balor left the group, Omega shortly arrived in the faction. After seeing remarks from Alex Shelley in regards to the Bullet Club, he couldn’t help but remark.
Shelley, a veteran of New Japan who found his Time Splitters team at odds with many of the juniors the Bullet Club had in New Japan, remarked on his thoughts on the reunited quintet, leading Tonga to throw in his thoughts as well, calling it a false reunion.
Tonga has been critical of companies outside New Japan using the Bullet Club for their own advancement. Whether it was referencing it in the WWE with AJ Styles, Anderson, and Gallows, the advancement of The Elite in the US, or this new teased alliance in AEW and Impact, Tonga is done being silent on the matter.
