Finn Balor Thinks Going Back To NXT Pushed Him Out Of His Comfort Zone

One of the first moves the WWE made when it moved NXT to USA to go head to head with AEW Dynamite was moving Finn Balor back to the black and gold brand. Since then, Balor has remained one of the top stars of the brand and has held some incredible matches with the top stars of the show like Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Matt Riddle, and Johnny Gargano. In addition to that, he joins Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe as the only three men to have held the NXT Championship on two separate occasions.

Balor seems absolutely content in his decision to return to NXT. In an interview with Digital Spy, Balor said returning to NXT was the best decision of his career, saying it helped him get out of his comfort zone.

You can make a lot of decisions in this business that you regret but I feel like the thing that affirms that I made the right decision is the different talent I’ve gotten to work with since I’ve been in NXT, people I’ve never worked with before in the past.

It helped me push myself to the limit and take myself out of the comfort zone that I was in on Raw and SmackDown and really kind of challenge myself in the ring. So that’s definitely been the kind of thing that affirms I’ve made the right decision to come back to NXT.

Balor remains a leader on the black and gold brand and has his eyes set on a one on one match with Karrion Kross, potentially at WrestleMania. As he continues to show the signs he’s still the brand’s top star, each match pushes him in the direction he wants to go and cements his legacy as perhaps the best wrestler ever to carry the flag for NXT.
