More On Marty Scurll’s Departure From Ring Of Honor
Ring of Honor announced that they had mutually parted ways with Marty Scurll earlier this week, and it seemed to be the result of an internal investigation following accusations made at Scurll from the Speaking Out movement.
Fightful Select has revealed more details following his release and it seems like this was definitely building up since the accusations were made. Their sources say there wasn’t a lot of surprise within ROH that Scurll and the company split, but they also weren’t surprised the decision took so long.
It had been reported that Scurll’s lucrative ROH contract had “certain protections” because it was “a huge deal.” It was also reported that Ring of Honor delayed the announcement, and they had actually departed with Scurll when he was removed from the Ring of Honor roster page.
Among those we spoke to, they felt it was pretty sure back in September when Scurll was removed from the roster page that he wouldn’t be back.
Of course, there were always differing opinions. Reportedly, “plenty” of people thought ROH would give Scurll a second chance, and “plenty” of the locker room “just wanted to see him leave.”
Scurll obviously remains a free agent, and it remains to see if any company takes a chance on him.
