Ring Of Honor Close To Re-Signing Two Top Talents
Ring of Honor has continued to stockpile their talent, re-signing them to new deals.
In the past week, 7 talents were locked down to extensions or new deals. Brian Johnson, Tracy Williams, Sumie Sukai, Amy Rose, Bandido, Mark Haskins, and Bateman all were announced as re-signing with Ring of Honor, and it seems that two of their biggest stars are close to joining that list.
Sports Illustrated has reported that ROH World Champion Rush and TV Champion Dragon Lee are in negotiations, with new deals finalized as soon as this week. The article comes from revealing Rush and Dragon Lee are being represented by Masked Republic.
Masked Republic is a wrestling group that has focused on helping lucha libre stars build and develop an international brand. Headed up by President and COO Kevin Kleinrock and CEO and founder Ruben Zamora, the group likens itself to a “players association of lucha libre.”
Masked Republic also lists Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix, Konnan, Ultimo Dragon, The Great Sasuke, Vampiro, Christi Jaynes, and Salina de la Renta on their client roster. Kleinrock is best known for his participation in ECW rival promotion XPW and the short lived MTV-produced Wrestling Society X.
While Rush and Bandido are signed, they may be losing former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, who has yet to re-sign but hasn’t ruled it out.
