Speculation on Ricochet’s Future And Current Booking
There was a lot of hype surrounding the arrival of Ricochet in the WWE. The long time independent star was catapaulted to the top of the NXT brand, and many people thought they would see this translate to the main roster.
After seeing some minor success with a US Title reign and even a brief flirtation with the main event, Ricochet seems to have fallen off and may have been forgotten. There may be a reason behind that.
We reported over the summer that Ricochet could be facing the homestretch of his WWE contract and Ricochet had tried to shut down the rumor. However, it still persists and Ricochet may be facing a change in his booking because he hasn’t signed a new deal.
Bryan Alvarez spoke about this on Wrestling Observer Live today, mentioning his contract and the belief he has yet to sign a new deal. He reportedly signed a 3-year deal in 2018, so unless he re-signed or we have bad intel, he will be a free agent at some point this year. WWE isn’t exactly in the talent hoarding mode anymore, so we’re looking at the opportunity that the One and Only could be bound for another company sometime this year.
