2021: The Year of The Young Stars in AEW
Despite being a recently formed promotion, AEW in the last year has been signing a lot of young and promising talent and showing that AEW is thinking long term. When AEW put the belt on Darby Allin, it showed AEW has faith on their young stars and that they will start pulling some triggers.
On their current roster, there’s a lot of young talent that will develop even more and others that are just ready for that next big step.
MJF
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (24) or MJF, had a great 2020 and established him as the future ace of AEW. 2021 will be an important year for the development of “The Salt of the Earth”.
While is too early to put the AEW championship on MJF, there’s no doubts in my mind that MJF will be TNT champion this year and have a really good run with the title.
MJF right now is the fastest rising star in all wrestling and 2021 will be his year and be one step closer to become a main eventer for AEW.
Hangman Page
Adam “Hangman” Page (29) is one of the next young stars AEW that they will pull the trigger this year. By the end of this year, Page will be AEW champion, of you pay attention you can see the writing on the wall.
Hangman is one of the most over stars in the entire promotion and 2021 is the time for him to take that next step on his career. Everything indicates he will be a major player for AEW this year and going forward.
Tag Team Division
AEW has arguably the strongest tag team division in all wrestling. This division is composed of experienced teams and newcomers. Private Party and Top Flight in particular are going to be the aces of this division one day. The only thing they need is more in-ring team with experienced teams.
Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are another young tag team that will be big players for AEW. This team will be AEW tag team champions one day or the first AEW 6-man champions with Marko Stunt. It’s just matter of time, like in other cases, for them to get their big break in the promotion.
Other young tag teams like Varsity Blonds ( Garrison & Pillman Jr.) and Silver & Reynolds are other young tag teams that will get their moment to shine this year.
Women’s Division
AEW’s women’s division is their youngest division and with a lot of promising talent in it that just need time to polish their in-ring work and gain experience.
Anna Jay, Tay Conti, Riho, Jade Cargill, Kris Statlander, Penelope Ford and Yuka Sakazaki are some of the young promising wrestlers they have on the roster.
Tay Conti has improved so much in her short time in AEW, and she is a perfect example that AEW is taking their time with the division and that on the right moment the division will catch up to the other divisions in the promotion.
