NJPW kicked off their New Beginnings tour with Road To New Beginnings Night 1, with the action taking place in Tokyo’s famous Korakuen Hall, the Super Jr’s took center stage in the main event as Sho and Master Wato took on Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI.
Will Ospreay and The Great O’Khan Vs Satoshi Kojima and Yota Tusji
Will Ospreay and Great O’Khan defeated Satoshi Kojima and Yota Tusji, Great O’Khan pinned Yota Tsuji after O’Khan hit the Eliminator. Will Ospreay struck the first blow over Kojima as they lead up to their singles match at New Beginning at Nagoya.
Minoru Suzuki, Douki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado Vs Gedo, Jado, Taiji Ishimori and El Phantasmo
El Phantasmo picked up the victory after catching DOUKI with a superkick, Ishimori and Phantasmon picked up momentum as they head towards their IWGP Super Jr Tag Team Title match with the champions El Desperado and Kanemaru on Night 5 of the Road To New Beginning tour.
Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto Vs Evil, Dick Togo and Yujiro Takahashi
Hirooki Goto picked up the pin fall on Dick Togo after hitting his GTR finisher. Evil has targeted Okada recently and the two are set to face off in a variety of matches on the New Beginning Tour.
Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomoaki Honma Vs SANDA, Shingo Tagaki and Tetsuya Natio
Natio picked up the victory for his team after Hitting Destino on Honma. The LIJ team are able to gain the first victory, with Shingo Tagaki set to defend his Open-Weight title against Tanahashi at New Beginnings at Nagoya and SANADA are set to challenge Ibushi for the IWGP Intercontinental and World championship on night 2 of New Beginnings at Hiroshima.
Sho and Master Wato Vs Hiroshi Takahashi and BUSHI
Master Wato pinned BUSHI with a School boy roll up into a Jack Knife to pick up the victory ahead of the scheduled singles match at New Beginnings at Hiroshima night 1. Sho is also set to face Takahashi for the IWGP Sr Jr championship in the main event of New Beginnings as Hiroshima Night 1.
What a way to kick off the New Beginnings tour, great matches from beginning to end, highlighted by the main event match between, Sho and Master Wato Vs Hiroshi Takahashi and BUSHI. Night 2 kicks off on the 18th of January with some great matches lined up including a great main event that will see Master Wato and Hiroshi Tanhashi as they face BUSHI and Shigo Tagaki.
