Renee Michelle Says She Learned WWE Would Be Filming At Her Wedding Two Days Before Ceremony

In the world of pro wrestling, weddings rarely go the way you expect. Usually, it’s because the weddings are booked to go chaotically. In this instance, unfortunately for Renee Michelle, this was her actual wedding.

Fans will remember Drake Maverick’s relentless pursuit of the WWE 24/7 Title and how he inevitably won the title to wear proudly at his wedding. This unfortunately ended with R-Truth crashing the wedding and rolling up Maverick to win the title. Eventually, Dave Meltzer reported that this wasn’t a staged moment but recorded after the actual wedding took place.

Renee Michelle had a chance to talk about it on Hannibal TV, revealing that she only found out about WWE filming the segment only two days prior to her wedding. She added that they only gave more details on the day of the wedding and said not only did she feel her wedding was ruined, but her grandmother was furious.

“I did not know about the filming until two days prior to the wedding. I did not know about the details before an hour and a half to two hours of me walking down the aisle but the amount of detail I didn’t know… I thought it was going to be one of those filming… like Sarah Logan and her man. No, that did not happen. That completely went out the window. My grandma, she was so mad. If looks can kill, and she’s an 85-year old Christian school teacher, she was not happy at all. Yeah, my wedding was ruined.”
