Matt Hardy Says He Saved Impact Wrestling
Matt Hardy recently appeared on Impact Wrestling for the first time since 2016, when he last appeared as “Broken” Matt Hardy.
Matt Hardy tweeted out that he saved Impact Wrestling from going out of business back in 2016 because of his “Broken” character.
Hardy quoted a fans tweet and confirmed that Impact Wrestling would have either gone bankrupt or would have been sold to WWE.
“Broken” Matt Hardy created so much of a buzz due to his popular character back in 2016 that when his contract expired with Impact Wrestling, WWE signed both Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy and allowed their own variation of Matt’s “Broken” character, which was then “Woken”.
It appears that Matt Hardy is telling the truth in this situation and may have saved Impact Wrestling from going under.
