Last night on NXT, Karrion Kross ruined the hopes of Ashanti “Thee” Adonis and Desmond Troy in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic by decimating Adonis to the point he is not medically cleared to compete in his first round match on 205 Live Friday night.
Now the vacancy has been filled as former rivals Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa will unite fill the void and meet Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari in the first round.
An online segment posted last night on the WWE Network Twitter account teased Ciampa asking Thatcher to fill the spot with him and NXT General Manager William Regal confirmed it earlier today. It also hints at the start of a Thatcher face turn, which could help if he’s filling the void of a potentially departing for the main roster Damian Priest.
