Natalya On Whether Or Not Tyson Kidd Will Wrestle Again
Tyson Kidd’s in ring career was cut short by a freak neck injury thanks to a muscle buster from Samoa Joe. It was an accident that broke Kidd’s neck and the reason Joe no longer uses the move in the WWE.
Kidd has expressed interest in coming back to wrestling, even if it’s a small spot at the Royal Rumble. The idea Kidd could have such a spot or even make a comeback picked up a little steam when he was recently spotted teaching Brodie Lee Jr. some tricks of the trade, but Kidd is no longer taking bumps.
Natalya spoke with Sportskeeda about the potential of Kidd returning to the ring, and while Natalya gave the traditional “never say never,” she did reveal that there’s far more risks of Kidd returning to the ring than others who have suffered career ending neck injuries.
“TJ Was so loved and so respected by people backstage and in front of the camera, but I think, you know, I’m one of those people where I say ‘Never Say Never’. But I feel like TJ is at a point in his life, especially with his health where he is really content with where he’s at as far as not returning to the ring. Again, I still say ‘Never Say Never’, anything in WWE can happen. That’s the fun part of WWE, you can always expect the unexpected. But it’s hard to say. I think TJ’s injury was so different than Edge and it was so different than Daniel Bryan. His injury was, you know, his neck was broken at the base of his brain. So it’s a much different injury and it’s much more risky for him to return. So, he’s just very lucky that he is alive and he is well.”
Kidd was in the middle of the best run of his WWE career when the injury happened. Between a successful team with Cesaro and a run in NXT that saw him as one of the top contenders to the NXT Title, Kidd was showing everyone what he was truly capable of. You can watch the interview below.
