WWE Superstar Spectacle Had Last Minute Talent Change
WWE’s Superstar Spectacle aired yesterday and it certainly was a highlight for many performers. There was several matches featuring the WWE’s main roster talent working with up and coming Indian stars in the company, but one of those talents found out they were going to appear shortly before the show started.
While the Superstar Spectacle was taped Friday before SmackDown, PWInsider has learned that one match had to be changed at the very last minute. Sareena Sandhu teamed with Charlotte to meet Bayley and Natalya on the show, though it was originally scheduled to be Kavita Devi. Devi, who has been with the company since 2017, had to pull from the show at the last minute because of a family issue that forced her to travel back to India. They had announced that on the show, with PWInsider’s report revealing this was legitimate.
Sandhu, known as Samara on the independant scene, has worked for such promotions like Beyond Wrestling, WWR, RISE, SHIMMER, and even took part in a Impact One Night Only show where she lost to Allie. There was a delay in the start of the taping, and while this is pure speculation, the changing of the talent involve may have had to do with the start of taping Superstar Spectacle. Devi had been featured on advertisements for the show, obviously the WWE showing they had plans to feature her.
Our thoughts go to Devi in the hopes all is well with her family situation.
