Shane Helms Reflects On WWE Match With AJ Styles in 2002

Shane Helms recently tweeted out information about the time he faced AJ Styles back in 2002 while in WWE during WWF Metal.

Shane Helms tweeted out that he did everything in his power to make sure that WWE signed AJ Styles back in 2002 because Helms knew what Styles was capable of back then.

I did everything in my power to get AJ hired at a time when WWE didn’t know about him. Even got heat for letting an “unknown” do too much. I knew he was good even back then. And now he’s one of the best in the world. Incredible journey. https://t.co/hIk2KkMLcL

Helms mentioned that he even got heat for allowing AJ Styles to do to much as an “unknown star”.

AJ Styles was eventually signed by WWE back in 2016 and made his debut in the Royal Rumble to many fans surprise.
