Update On Randy Orton vs. The Fiend At The Royal Rumble; Moved To WrestleMania?
While it initially seemed Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton were heading toward a showdown at the Royal Rumble, now it doesn’t seem to be the case. The Fiend has yet to be seen in person since TLC, and Orton has declared himself for the Royal Rumble. What’s going on?
Well, if you believe it or not, their final showdown may have now been moved to WrestleMania.
It has been reported that Wyatt vs. Orton was at one point booked for the Royal Rumble in an “insane gimmick match.” Now in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reported that recent booking in the angle means the final showdown between The Viper and The Fiend could be moved to WrestleMania.
Orton vs Fiend was on the card for Rumble in a Firefly Fun House match and now it doesn’t appear to be. If it’s held for Mania and there is certainly speculation now that’s the case, that takes Orton vs. Edge out
Edge vs. Orton at WrestleMania is something Edge wanted, but it potentially opens up for more options on the show. We’ll have to find out how things eventually unfold.
