Lana hasn’t wrestled since before TLC, when she lost her chance at being the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Asuka. While the WWE still shows The Ravishing Russian injured in storyline, it remains just that.
Dave Meltzer confirmed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lana’s injury is a work. Despite a recent tweet that said she can’t wait to be out of a cast and ankle brace, Lana is ready to go and could be a surprise entrant in this year’s Women’s Rumble match.
Lana would also have a good shot at returning, since the idea was to keep her off about six weeks with her worked injury, and it would make sense for her to eliminate Jax in some fashion.
The Lana and Nia Jax storyline has been one WWE has heavily invested in and was featured prominently for several weeks on Raw, so revisiting it to give it a conclusion makes sense. However, we will have to wait and see what WWE decides for the event tomorrow.
