2K Studios Backstage At Royal Rumble Doing Work For Next WWE 2K Entry
WWE’s last entry into their 2K series was met with derision from the fans and critics alike. The loss of the the typical engine the game used forced the studio to start from scratch, the end result being a mess that left fans disappointed and critics pining for the older games. Instead of trying to work on it all on the fly for WWE 2k21, the company scrapped this year’s entry in the series in favor of a whole different game, WWE Battlegrounds.
Now, it looks like they’re ready to return to the main franchise. PWInsider has reported representatives from 2K are backstage at the Royal Rumble tonight using the opportunity to record voiceovers and updated scanning of “most of, if not the entire roster.”
Representatives of 2K are slated to be at today’s WWE Royal Rumble in Tampa, Florida. We are told that WWE talents will be recording voiceovers for the next edition of the game today.
While there’s no official confirmation date on WWE 2K22, fans will no doubt start to get excited as they hope for a return to form for the franchise. To have the competition now of that and the upcoming AEW console game, fans can start clamoring for both and wondering which game will turn out to be their favorite.
