The mystery has been solved.
After weeks of speculation following a promo where Jay White said he was leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling and walking out of New Year’s Dash quickly, White ended all speculation on his future by returning to New Japan at Road to the New Beginning last night.
After the co-main event, White made his return and hit Tomohiro Ishii with his Bladerunner finisher, seemingly setting up a feud between the two stars.
White was the subject of several rumors after his promo, with many people wondering what his next move would be. Many within the WWE put over White as a potential signing if he was in play, but then reports came out that White had a long term deal with New Japan, as AEW had looked into him as they were building their initial roster. New Japan even played along with the storyline and removed him from their roster page.
Now there is no doubt on White’s future, and it’s with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
