Randy Orton Sets Dubious Royal Rumble Record
Records are made to be broken. There’s also some records that will have a difficult time being broken. Some records you want, and some you don’t. Randy Orton broke a record at last night’s Royal Rumble that he might not want to be the holder of.
A user on Reddit, throwaway_05122018, revealed that Orton has now set the record for going the longest in a Royal Rumble match without getting any eliminations. The previous record was held by Sami Zayn, who went 47 minutes and 12 seconds without an elimination in 2017. In an interesting note, Ember Moon went 52:23 in 2019 to set the women’s record, and Naomi came close to breaking that record this year going 47:39.
Orton was the last man eliminated in this year’s Royal Rumble, being eliminated by Edge after starting at number 2. He was announced as having drawn number one, but the two switched leading to some confusion.
