Strange stories emerge all the time about shows and events from when they happen, and the Royal Rumble is no exception. This year’s strange Royal Rumble story comes from former WWE Superstar and current AEW star Trent.
Trent spent a good amount of time in the company, and he took to Twitter to share a story about his WWE run. He revealed that WWE allegedly told him once he was going to be used in the Rumble match, which would have been big for a guy who was mostly a lower midcarder at the time.
however, during the meeting when plans are discussed with talent for the Rumble, Trent’s name was never called on. Because of this, Trent had to leave the meeting.
one time they told me I was in the rumble so I went in for the meeting where they go over everything and my name never came up so I had to leave
The story had amusing reactions from Karl Anderson and Brian Myers.
Trent is currently recovering from a torn pectoral muscle, so it may be some time before we see him again. But at least we’ll have his Twitter feed to enjoy.
