Less than a week after Jon Moxley appeared on NJPW Strong to answer the calls from KENTA over the IWGP United States Title, KENTA has now returned the favor.
In the chaos following the main event on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, KENTA shocked everyone by arriving in AEW, complete in his Go2Sleep Club Bullet Club shirt to attack Jon Moxley, laying him out with the G2S as he responded to Moxley’s attack from NJPW Strong.
The two have their match date scheduled for the IWGP Title, but as the show closed, not only did he make a shock appearance in AEW as a New Japan contracted talent, but Excalibur on commentary asked if KENTA’s arrival signaled a patching up of the bad blood between the Bullet Club in New Japan and the reunited Bullet Club faction in AEW.
There is obviously a lot to unpack here, namely the fact KENTA remains contracted to NJPW in addition to the fact that they continue to reference the Bullet Club. Not only that, but this is now cross promoting Moxley’s IWGP United States Title defense against KENTA. This is a developing story and we will have updates as we learn them here at Bodyslam.
