‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Reveals What Current Wrestlers Are Superior At Compared To Older Wrestlers
WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin contributions to the professional wrestling world cannot be understated. His opinion regarding the pro wrestling product certainly carries weight as well.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently spoke to ESPN First Take, where he promoted the new season of his Straight up Steve Austin show.
While taking part in the interview, Steve Austin was asked about the current state of the pro wrestling world. Austin said that the product is far more athletic now than in the past and both the male and female wrestlers are better athletes in comparison to those of past eras of pro wrestling.
“You’re spot in saying that today is a different era,” said Austin. “It’s a more athletic product, the guys and girls are better athletes than we were.
“Growing up, I was a big fan of promotions such as NWA, Mid South, and WCCW as well, and during the Attitude Era, we really pushed the envelope creatively. I just think the business was a lot more protected back then, and it was a grittier product, which is what I thrive on.”
