Matt Sydal Talks About Working With AEW
It seems like yesterday Matt Sydal was getting the shine from one of the most replayed RKO’s in history in the WWE. However, the veteran has been around for years, working for promotions like PWG, Impact, Ring of Honor, and various other independent promotions, leading up to his arrival in AEW.
Sydal became All Elite over the summer, and while talking with the All Real Wrestling Podcast, Sydal talks about signing with AEW and how he still feels that PWG vibe working for All Elite Wrestling.
“The guys that came out of PWG eventually started the company AEW and I mean it just goes to show you it took a little long for somebody to capitalize on it but I mean they’ve been putting their hearts into some really incredible work for some time and it’s just a matter of time before somebody wanted to utilize that and make it a giant international destination instead of just receive a little American Legion Hall. I always feel like what AEW is going for is the PWG spirit that mentality is sort of is the heart in the right place, I believe in what they do and there’s a lot of good wrestling and I love being in AEW and there’s definitely benefits to being with these companies that are taking care of the wrestlers during this time.”
Sydal has become a key figure in the AEW locker room as a veteran who can teach young stars like Top Flight while still providing a valuable name on the card that draws attention to his matches. It’s things like this that only help make AEW a promotion that’s fun to watch. You can view the interview below, in addition to that famous RKO under this.
