Edge won the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match and now has the right to face off for a title at WrestleMania 37. While his opponent has been determined, there are some things surrounding the match that hasn’t.

WWE has already decided Edge will be meeting Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37. Although they’ve teased him pursuing Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor, they’ve decided on Roman Reigns. They will finally get a chance to bill Spear vs. Spear at WrestleMania, except with Edge instead of Goldberg this time. While this will no doubt be an exciting match to watch in-ring and from a promo perspective, the one thing that has yet to be determined is who will win this major matchup. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that the match is now set in stone, but they have yet to determine if the culmination of his year long journey back to the top of the WWE will result in him becoming Universal Champion.
At press time, while not announced, one of the WrestleMania main events will be Edge challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal title. Edge winning was for the storyline that Edge retired as champion and now that he’s come back, is looking to regain the title as the culmination of his return. Right now there is no plan regarding who wins this match.
Edge himself was the one who pushed for this matchup, so it remains to be seen if this has a payoff for Edge, but with live fans in the arena, it could be one of the first feel good moments with live fans back in an arena for the WWE to see Edge clutch the title above his head to close WrestleMania.
