Last night’s SmackDown was the first one since it was revealed Cesaro had signed a new deal with the WWE. While it’s been reported that Cesaro has a new role, he continued picking up major momentum as he picked up a victory against Daniel Bryan.
It was a great back and forth match that even saw Cesaro take a nasty bump which caused a gash on the side of his head. The gash was even bad enough that the highlight video the WWE added to their YouTube channel went black and white, one of the ways they hide blood. In the end, Cesaro picked up one more victory and gave Bryan a fist bump, a possible sign of a babyface turn of his own.
It was reported the WWE has a new role in mind for Cesaro with his new deal, and that’s to help build new stars. While last night wasn’t the start of that, it seems like WWE have started to build some momentum for the former US Champion and multiple time Tag Team Champion on his road to helping build those new stars. Cesaro has been booked strongly over the last few weeks that his momentum has not looked this great in quite some time.
