AEW And NXT See Viewership Drops But AEW Wins The Week Again
AEW and NXT had big episodes to offer, with NXT dropping its go home show before TakeOver: Vengeance Day and AEW had the the first signs of the Forbidden Door opening when KENTA arrived in AEW. With these big things happening, how were things week’s ratings?
Showbuzz Daily has reported AEW Dynamite had 741,000 viewers with a .29 in the coveted 18-49 demographic while NXT had 558,000 viewers with them scoring .12 in the same demographic.
Both saw drops in viewership, with NXT having 610,000 viewers and AEW having 844,000 viewers. AEW was the #3 show on cable last Wednesday, but dropped to 21 this week, while NXT once again failed to crack the top 50 most watched cable shows.
Ratings were dominated by coverage of the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, and NXT and AEW have started to slowly put together their shows for next week, so we will have to see if the two can improve on this week’s ratings.
