Update On Velveteen Dream’s Status
To the dismay of several WWE and NXT fans, the Dream is not over.
Velveteen Dream has been off television for several weeks, his last match being the December 23rd episode of NXT where he lost to Adam Cole. However, Triple H revealed Dream’s status and it’s not one supporters for Dream’s termination will want to hear.
On the recent conference call to promote NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, Triple H was asked about Dream’s status with the company. He once again reiterated Velveteen Dream is still under contract with the company.
“There’s really nothing to add with Velveteen Dream. We’ve gone over it a million times. A status update: he’s still training. He had a little bit of a physical thing for a bit. He’s still with us, still training, still on the roster.”
The accusations made against him clearly haven’t deterred WWE from keeping him around. Despite having very credible evidence against him, WWE has maintained him on the payroll. His appearances have become so polarizing, his appearances usually cause #FireVelveteenDream to trend on Twitter during any of his appearances. Despite that, the WWE has clearly maintained faith and believe in his innocence. We may have to wait for his next appearance, but he’s not quite done yet with the company.
