Former WWF Employee Tom Cole, Victim Of Sex Offender Mel Phillips, Passes Away From Apparent Suicide
Bodyslam is saddened to report the passing of former WWE employee Tom Cole.
David Bixenspan resurfaced Cole’s name months ago in an investigative piece he did as he revealed Cole was the victim of former WWF ring announcer Mel Phillips who was plagued with a scandal of child molestation during his run with the company in the 80s and 90s. Cole was one of many victims, and though WWE once fired him due to these allegations, it was revealed Linda McMahon hired him back to the company in 1988 knowing of the accusations under the promise to avoid underage boys and children at all cost. Phillips remained with the company until 1992 when he was once again caught with a child, though Vince McMahon took no actual action against Phillips at the time.
Now Bixenspan has RTed an announcement from Lee Cole, the brother of Tom Cole, announcing that Cole had passed away via suicide. Cole’s tweet reminded people Vince and Linda allowed sex offenders to work for their company and helped cover up Phillips’ actions.
These reports resurfaced as Linda McMahon’s super PAC supported Donald Trump who had endorsed and supported candidates tied to the far right QAnon conspiracy, who had accused Democratic Party leaders of being tied to the sexual abuse of children.
Bodyslam.net sends their condolences to the family of Tom Cole in this difficult time.
